IgA nephropathy (IgAN)

IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is a primary glomerulonephritis, it is characterized by IgA-dominant immune complex deposition in the glomerular mesangium — the supporting tissue of “filters” in the kidney, is the most prevalent primary glomerulonephritis — inflammation of the kidney’s filtering units, worldwide. Approximately 9.5 million people were affected by IgAN in 2023 globally, which is expected to reach 10.4 million in 2033.
